Xavier Reygaza settled on a portion of his mentor Alain Coquart's orchards in 2021 in Bessenay (69), known as "La Cerise Bleue." Over the course of three years, he developed his fruit production activity, and then, in early 2024, he took over the entirety of "La Cerise Bleue" and established "Vergers et compagnie."
Xavier produces seasonal fruits: cherries, apples, mirabelles, apricots, peaches, and vineyard peaches. His orchards are spread across the municipalities of Bessenay, St Julien sur Bibost, Chevinay, and Lentilly. He practices sustainable agriculture, and the operation is certified with the High Environmental Value label.
The harvests are marketed either wholesale or directly, notably at the producer's store "Le Relais des Saveurs" in Légny, where he is associated, or through his 24/7 lockers in Bessenay. A portion of the production is dedicated to fruit processing. Jams, compotes, and fruits in syrup are made directly on the farm, while fruit juices and nectars are manufactured through a partnership with La Maison Patrick Font.
